The Hell Dwellers
What happens to bad people when they die?
Where do they go and what do they do?
How do they affect us and how do they live among each other in their search for happiness?
The Hell Dwellers is a novel that builds on secular research on the afterlife for its settings. Among its 18 chapters are modified real-life accounts of people undergoing therapy to remove earthbound spirits. Other chapters look at the way earthbound sprits wreak havoc on unsuspecting victims whose lives they ruin. Still others speculate on what it's like to live in the dark worlds where demonic entities reside and impact each other. Are they doomed for eternity? No God has put them or keeps them there. Their will is free, but hardened habits of evildoing and fear of disappointing senior devils make it difficult to break free. Merciful beings of light patrol these regions and try to help them. This novel is not informed by religious teaching but by contemporary secular research.

Reviews
"The hell of much orthodoxy is one of eternal suffering in an inferno -- unending physical anguish beyond human imagination. However, the “hell” coming to us through psychical research and consciousness studies is more a “fire of the mind” – something akin to a bad dream or nightmare, not quite as intimidating as being burned at the stake, and not everlasting, yet miserable. Professor Stafford Betty offers various views of the hellish environment and condition in this very interesting and intriguing book.
“For years I continued to drink as a roving earthbound spirit counseled by a demon named Dexter who adopted me,” Sheeka is quoted after “seeing the light” and making it to a higher realm with the help of more advanced spirits venturing into the darker realms. “I knew there were worlds of light, but it never seriously occurred to me that I had any chance of getting there. In retrospect, it amazes me that I could have been so stupid.”

"I was blown away by The Hell Dwellers. I have studied and read books about the afterlife, consciousness, quantum physics, etc, since I was in high school, so I consider myself very well read on the subject. I can’t believe I had no clue or had never read about the lower levels and what goes on. Truly, I had no concept and thought the afterlife was all good, light and love. I had no idea that those who had been evil in life were attracted to like-minded people and found themselves in the afterlife with that kind of negative energy. I never really explored or knew that negative entities could actually prey on and impact people on earth in such horrible ways to the degree that this book explains. It is incomprehensible that this exists! Little did I know.
